In basic blow up, Wagehe Raufi transports her own physicality into digital space. A 3D scanner is used to examine the surface of her body precisely and generate a series of digital frames. Displayed as a shell, the corporeality seems to be no more than a mere digital surface. In order to answer the question of how the scanning process alters the corporeality, the artist created three-dimensional objects that enable her to observe her own body. (Sonja Wunderlich)
