Following the traditions of kinetic art, the artist duo examines the way in which objects move under the influence of forces. The theme of their kinetic devices is the human appropriation of technology: How does technology determine the structure of our daily life and what consequences arise from this appropriation? The viewers may be aware of the buzzing and the moving copper coils of the kinetic sculpture They (1) but the technical processes that bring this about remain hidden. (Sonja Wunderlich)
